I have always enjoyed music for as long as I can remember. It wasn't until the early 80s that I immersed myself in the metal scene. I was and will always be a fan of the NWOBH and European metal especially Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept and the Scorpions. Eventually, I discovered and explored every conceivable genre of metal. To this day, I pretty much listen to any guitar based music (not just metal). Jesse and I founded this site  as an outlet for those who are passionate about and love all things metal.
When I was a kid in middle school, there was a weekly radio show on the local FM rock station called “Hard, Fast and Nasty” that was devoted to extreme metal and thus was where I heard several of my favorite bands for the first time.  To this day, that phrase accurately describes my taste in metal.  I, of course, love all types and my taste has matured over the years, but I’ll never forget where I came from.  For almost 20 years now, metal has been my passion and we thought it was high time we added our voice to the rest of them by creating this site.  One more beer and heavy metal and I’m just fine.
Chris has been a disciple of metal since Black Sabbath entered his life in 1976. Since then, his love of metal has spanned the numerous genres with Priest, Maiden, Metallica, Venom, Slayer, Bathory, NWOBHM, Dark Angel, Death, Doro, Nevermore and Sodom just to name a sparse few. An award-winning writer, his spare time is spent reading comic books and wondering silently why the world allows the intelligent to languish in a minority.
"Abrasive music has always been a passion of mine, beginning with hardcore punk and progressing to thrash and eventually death and black metal.  Lately, the classic Swedish Death Metal and the nastiest Blackened Thrash Metal have become my primary focus, but as long as it's heavy and has no female vocals, i'm all for it.  I'm also a huge fan of Blue Oyster Cult, Dio, Maiden, and zombie films."
Since 1998, I have been a full-fledged metalhead and since 2006, I have actually written about metal music.  I am open-minded when it comes to most metal music, and will even listen to folk and classical music as part of the non-metal requirement.  Other things that I like to do include drawing, writing stories, and adding to the ever-growing collection of patches that inhabit my jackets.  As for favorite bands, there are too many to list here, but a sampling includes Sonata Arctica, Arkona, Hammerfall, and Manowar.
Rottenbucher has been a freelance journalist since the late 90s.  He hates folk metal and romantic walks on the beach. Aside from writing for Metal Psalter and for a few other publications, he currently spends his time lifting weights, gardening and trying to figure out how to write a screenplay that will sell for millions.

MUSIC REVIEWS
Like many metalheads from my generation, I first got into metal through Metallica and Megadeth. Soon I was devouring the 1990's Roadrunner, Century Media, and Earache rosters. My love of metal grew exponentially from there on. Although I am a fan of all forms of metal, the styles that I listen to the most are death metal (in all of its many forms), thrash, and black metal.

As a 10 year old kid in the mid 80’s I somehow convinced my father to buy me a couple of records by Twisted Sister and Motley Crue.  That got things rolling, and by the end of the 80’s I was starting to get into thrash and death metal.  I have been an avid metal fan ever since, and enjoy at least something from every subgenre. I take a particular interest in death, doom and thrash metal, as those were the first types of extreme metal that I got into and I have been following them the longest. I also listen to some early hard core, a bit of punk, and some 70’s hard/progressive rock.
