Bleeding Fist - Bestial Kruzifix666ion

This second full length release from Slovenia’s self-proclaimed “chaos” metallers is a scathing slab of brutal “black/thrash” metal that is sure to please fans of the style and propel Bleeding Fist to the genre’s top ranks.

More influenced by the recent re-exploration of the genre’s roots by the likes of Impiety, Destroyer 666, and Archgoat than by the roots themselves, Bleeding Fist don’t have the most original approach, but they excel at writing punishing riffs addictive in their punk-like immediacy.  The formula is straightforward and the ideas aren’t complex: Scandinavian-style black metal melodicism delivered in a hyper-kinetic riff salad.

Honestly I’ve never been particularly enamored of this style of metal, so words escape me when I try to describe Bestial Kruzifix666ion.  It is however far more enjoyable than the vast majority of similar albums simply for the integrity and energy on display.  There’s no “epic” tracks, atmospheric interludes, or mindless brutality.  It’s balls-out, ripping thrash metal delivered with relentless, uncompromising furiousness, and it’s some of the most honestly pissed off, defiant music I’ve heard in some time.  Clocking in at barely more than a half hour, Bleeding Fist delivers the goods with focus and conviction.

Listening to Bestial Kruzifix666ion is like getting knocked out in the first round: no sooner have you started then you’re already on the floor beaten, bloody, and broken.  If you’re a fan of any of the bands listed above or are really in the mood to get your ass kicked, check out this album immediately.
