So I'm looking for some good sci fi movies. Nothing too cheesy. I'm not looking for comedies. Preferably from the 70s and later. I tried looking up some titles but it's like trying to find a grain of sand on a beach. Anyone got any suggestions?

Also, not Star Trek, Star Wars, or Aliens. I've seen all those.

Thanks.

Seen Event Horizon. Have Solaris downloaded but never watched it. Never heard of Sunshine or Primer. Thanks Breezy! :thumb

Also TV shows. But not Star Trek, Firefly, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Fringe or Dr Who.

Ah yes, forgot about Farscape. I've been meaning to look into that one.

Also, turns out I have seen Primer. Strange movie that one. Good, though.

I really liked the movie Moon that came out in 2009. It's kind of "slow" like 2001: A Space Odyssey, but it's good. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend avoiding watching the trailer or reading about it before you watch it.

Also seen Total Recall (original) and the Terminators. All of them. Also Predator. Before you suggest those.

So I downloaded Farscape. Twice. Unfortunately both times, even though it was avi format, my room mate's XBox won't play it. This is pissing me off.

Already said I've seen Stargate. Just watched it again recently, actually. It sucked ass. So did Dark City.

I bought Star Gate a few months back. In my opinion it did not age well at all. It just seemed really lame.

Thanks to this thread I just bought The Fifth Element on Bluray. 7 bucks!

I appreciate it because I read all of those Chariot of the Gods? and 12th Planet books. It's an action film based primarily on those concepts.

Plus I took my first HS date to that movie! :nanner

The first movie I took a girl to was Pet Semetary 2. Like a year or two AFTER I graduated, I think? :lol You'd be surprised to know that as many movies and TV shows I watch now, I watched almost none until after I graduated HS.

I liked Stargate when I first saw it. Years ago. When I watched it recently, I even remarked on here how I hadn't realized how badly it sucked and didn't make any sense at all.
