It's the same, but different. They tried to experiment a little bit with the vocals. It's actually getting a lot of hate online. I haven't listened to it enough yet to really know what I think, but I do know that it's not bad at all. I may not end up loving it though.

Hmmm... I was going to pick it up, but my record store sold all two copies they had. Metal Archives' reviews say it sucks production wise and is boring. With the new Cannibal Corpse boring me nearly to tears, I am apprehensive to drop some coin for this.

A buddy of mine really likes. I've downloaded it but I've yet to listen to it at all.

I've never disliked a Nile album. I just like some more than others. I would rank In Their Darkened Shrines at the top and Ithyphallic at the bottom as far as their discography is concerned. Like I said, I haven't listened to the new one much yet, but I do like it. However, my initial gut reaction is that I like it but don't love it. I think it will rank above Ithyphalic for me, but it will probably be near the bottom of the list as far as Nile albums go. The production and the new approach to vocals are not really a problem for me, but I do miss the inclusion of more guttural vocals.

Nile has been severely boring to me since Ramses, Bringer of War. I guess I just don't get it.

Interesting. I like every other Nile album. So this will probably be one I don't like as my pattern starts with disliking the debut, loving BSOV, disliking ITDS, liking AOTW... Etc.
