I realize that Motorhead is the more popular band, so I assume they'll run away with this contest. I worship at the altar of these 14 essential Metal classics. While Motorhead continues to enjoy widespread success, Saxon is still relatively unknown by comparison. In my opinion, Saxon is the most criminally underrated and under appreciated band in all of Metal history. These guys should be as popular as Iron Maiden, but for whatever reason, they aren't. As much as I love the classic Motorhead lineup and the 7 albums they produced, I've got to give a slight edge to Saxon. Long Live The NWOBHM.

All 14 of the albums listed above were released between 1979 & 1984. This is my absolutely favorite era of Metal.

A lot of U.K. Blu-rays are region free, and they often sell for a fraction of the U.S. price, especially multi-disc box sets. Great customer service, and I usually receive my orders within 10 days.

Sacrilege, I'm sure...but Saxon was the better band.
