The guy who organized my chili cookoffs retired, so they're up in the air right now. There's one in West Virginia I might go to in July.

The Old Testament is hardly "Western culture" and apart from some instances in ancient Greece, Western culture has always viewed marriage as between a man and a woman and were always monogamous.
But marriage was never always considered "sacred" neither. Nor was it always done out of love.

Here, same-sex couples and heterosexual couples in de facto relationships pretty much have all the same rights as married couples. So economic benefits plays no part in the reasons for legalising gay marriage.

If I want to pay more per month for insurance and have my boyfriend covered... or my cousin, it's my money and therefore my choice. Marital status and sexuality should have no impact on these matters.

After years of fixing bad credit I was finally approved to buy a home in the Bay Area. But it seems like the gods are against me as it's slowed down tremendously at work and my savings/retirement stocks/emergency money are taking a big hit. WTF!
