Ok, so, Franklin got KTFO just as I suspected he would. So now Belfort may get dips on Anderson.

What's wrong with Cro Cop?? Looks like he just gave up since he came to the UFC. The new Ultimate Fighter is gonna be great as well. Hoping for a quick Kimbo Slice knockout!

Demon, is that you?
I'm Glad Cro-Cop has decided to quit. i hope he sticks by that decision.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship light-heavyweight champ Quinton "Rampage" Jackson of Irvine says in a blog post on his website that "I'm done fighting," and carries on about the reasons why.
"The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them," the blogger identified as Jackson wrote, criticizing the Ultimate Fighting Championship for assigning him fights against Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva, Rashad Evans and Keith Jardine that he either wasn't ready for or not consulted about. Now that he's involved in a film version of "The A-Team" -- taking the role of B.A. Baracus, which Mr. T played on TV -- Jackson says more tension has gone down:
Then this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called [UFC President Dana White] right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together. My dad became an [alcoholic] & addicted to drugs & we grew apart. But after my dad got his life back together, I was so proud of my dad & I told him I would always take care of him in the future & make him proud of me. My dad & I are still very big fans of the show & I am basically doing this for the childhood memories I had spending time in front of the tv with my dad. Dana went on the internet & mocked me because of that & I still did nothing. Dana & I finally talked & we made up & then after that he went back on the internet ... & he was talking bad about the movie when information is not even supposed to be released & talking about payments which is not even true could really hurt my future acting career, which could very well last longer than my fighting career. I'm not like Randy Couture. My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I'm done fighting. I've been getting negative reviews from the dumb ... fans that don't pay my bills or put my kids though college. So I'm hanging it up. I'm gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they'll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way. ... I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn't respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for & thats all that matters to me!
UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta told The Times in a text message today that he's reaching out to Jackson's manager for an explanation. "This all came out of left field," Fertitta wrote.

yea, it's me. who else posts in this thread besides you, me and jabs. how about UFC 104, Machida vs. Shogun? Machida is my favorite fighter right now so i'm super excited for this one He'll knock out Shogun in the 2nd. The Velasquez vs. Rothwell will be quite the brawl I think so i'm excited for that too.

sherdog.com Quote: Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers are set to meet in a heavyweight main event for Strikeforce on Nov. 7 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, just outside of Chicago, the promotion announced Wednesday.
The event will air on CBS, marking the sport’s return to the major television network since the airing of EliteXC “Heat” in October 2008.
Subscribers to Strikeforce’s Insider newsletter will be able to purchase tickets starting Friday during an official pre-sale at Ticketmaster.com. General sales begin Monday.
The Sears Centre Arena holds 11,800 seats and has hosted IFL events in the past. basic cable for all those who don't have showtime. excellent stuff though i think Rogers will be destroyed.

Man. I knew Rampage was on some indefinite hiatus because of this movie role, I didn't realize he was hanging it up. But, his reasons are solid. Nothing in this world is more important than family. Good luck to him in whatever he does.

Well, it's finally here. Rather, it is finally looming over the horizon. UFC 104, Oct.24, Machida vs. Shogun. Place your bets Lot's of very good match-ups there too.

Cerrone should've taken the interim belt. Henderson won by a very bad call from the judges. WEC is not giving enough credit to fighting off your back effectively. He made Ben look stupid most of the time. Damn I'm angry about this

Shogun must be injured as the wikipedia entry for the main event, reads as follows: Yoshi Tatsu will challenge UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida for his title in the main event. edit: nothing about this on the UFC.COM site. so it must be someone messing about on Wkipedia.

Robbery. It's hard to believe three judges could be that incompetent. Rua clearly won most of the rounds even if it was deemed he wasn't agressive enough in the last round.

i honestly could see the judges giving the fight to either guy but i have to admit that Shogun, i feel, had a stronger performance on Saturday.
Velasquez had a strong showing against Rothwell although i think the fight was stopped prematurely. Him and Carwin are the only guys i can see possibly defeating Lesnar at this point.

Him and Carwin are the only guys i can see possibly defeating Lesnar at this point. i really don't see how the judges could be justified in giving the decision to either man. Rua consistently landed with the more effective strikes throughout and had Machida out of sorts. If Machida finds a way to beat him next time i'll be impressed. Rua was the first fighter Machida's met that has just as quick reflexes and footwork as him. the ref probably stopped the other fight too early, but Rothwell was shipping a lot of punishment and he was never going to change the inevitable outcome of the fight. He could have gone on longer but it would have been needless punishment for Rothwell to endure. Carwin certainly has the power to knock out Lesnar. I'm not sure Velasquez either has the power or strength to trouble Lesnar. Although Rothwell is a big dude, i feel Lesnar is a lot stronger than him.

I don't think Shogun won, even if he did exceptionally well. I think the commentating was incredibly biased towards Shogun. In Lyoto's own words "watch the fight w/o sound, you will probably get a different impression altogether." It was the sheer fact that Rua was doing so well against Machida that pretty much blinded everyone to the fact that Lyoto was actually performing very well. It was a very close fight. But I don't believe Rua did enough to win it. Well it now appears Lesnar/Carwin is postponed. Lesnar came down with some illness or other. Tito vs. Forrest will substitute as a headliner

Bricriu wrote: I have a feeling there could be an upset in the Fedor v Rogers fight. I agree. I think Fedor has been fighting for a very long time and could easily get too complacent at this point. Brett is hungry as hell. In other MMA/Boxing news: apparently Couture has invited Ricky Hutton to crossover and to personally train him, and Hutton is seriously considering it I think it's a lame idea personally. Ricky is too old to become well versed in MMA. 10 years ago it would've worked, not now. The fighters are much higher caliber now. Boxing combined with some rapidly acquired TDD can only work for him in much smaller promotions. WEC or UFC would only humiliate him. I also hope it doesn't become a gay trend. A boxer loses a few fights and gets the bright idea that he can be an MMA star.

plus Hatton is punch drunk and his lifestyle in between fights is not conducive to him being in prime shape inside the ring. i hope he sees his sense and stick to his new venture as a boxing promoter.

Fedor He is the master at beating people at their own game! I wouldn't be surprised if he actually won that fight with a broken nose after that early punch from Rogers! Also, not forgetting he survived the ground n pound from rogers after it too. He is seriously tough.

I don't really follow MMA, but I saw this fight last night at the bar. Dude went OUT with that punch!

It wasn't just you. I thought he was a total ass. But you got to consider his "flawless" record of fighting cans and the ego that he built up because of it. First loss hurts. Hopefully he adjusts and learns that he is not the king of the hill as he previously, undoubtedly, thought.
