Seriously? I'm trying, but I just can't seem to do it. Not even sure I have a favorite. Does anyone here have one?

Mitt Romney will be the best liberal President we've had in a while. :P He's the only viable option to beat Obama. Repubs don't like him much, but that's who they're going to have to vote for. Newt was an option but he's trying to go so far right he's just a blatant asshole now.

newt as nominee guarantees an obama victory as he's just too much of a scuzzball. romney is the only one with any chance, but far righters and tea partiers absolutely loath him and could conceivably vote some other way guaranteeing an obama victory.

I can see Romney as President.

It's not like the presidential bar has been set all that high.

Since resigning his House Speakership in 1998, Gingrich has done nothing but bash the far right-wing of the GOP. The guy has taken some fairly liberal positions on a lot of issues in recent years. Gingrich is a lot more moderate than most people think. He's the smartest guy in this race, but he's a grenade thrower, and you're never quite sure when or where he's going to toss the damn thing.

I could see Romney as president. Not that I like him much, but he seems intelligent, articulate, reasonable, and competent. Gingrich is a colossal douche and Santorum is a lunatic.

Romney looks the most Presidential as defined by the media and previous Presidents. I think Newt and Paul could both do the job, but they don't have that slick shine that has been nearly mandatory since JFK. But is that a bad thing? The current dildo talks nice and is good looking, but can't even find a hole. So, do I want Romney with his hair or Newt with his forthy mouth or Paul with his old man quirks? This is why I think the politicans should just be picked from the phone book.

Newt's biggest turn off for me is the "family values/sactity of marriage" bullshit while leaving wives while they're sick. Obama, Newt, Romney... it isn't going to matter. Obama's crew is blaming Bush, if a Repub. gets in they'll say they can't get results because of Obama. Ad nauseum. And nauseating.

Absolutely.

Why politicans talk about family values is beyond me. Does anyone really think these guys are any better than the Rock Stars they actually think they are? But ever since Clinton's impeachment it's become a megaissue. So giving Newt and Cain the business about his fidelity issues in the debates is pretty much payback for Clinton. But Newt and Cain do come off as complete slimeballs so it it almost some sort of karma. But in the long run, what any of these guys do beneath the sheets is their business. If Obama rather get skull from an intern rather than his ghoulish wife, I'd support him all the way just on principle. Sexual orientation, intercourse and marital status have absolutely no bearing on the responsiblities of being President.

Why journalists and the public allow this blame game to continue is beyond me. There are acts of God, there are mistakes made, their are good ideas that turn out to be bad. It's called life. But though the media eye, politicans have to act like they always make bull's eyes or... it's the other guys fault. This angle does not work at your local McDonalds. Why does it get to work in politics? Mainly because we are forced to elect the least worst.

I haven't been following politics for well over a year... all i know of it is what I happen to catch on non-news TV, Facebook, etc., but it seems like Newt is trying to make his criticisms his strong points. He's been quite dickish lately, really blunt, and now he's running with it. The tea baggers and people farther to the right love that. I do know Dems would rather have Newt run against Obama than Romney.

I think Newts popularity comes from the rest of the candidates being pussies. If you are going to beat Obama you have to have balls to point out that he has accomplished virtually nothing, worsened the economy for the present and the long hall, is completely in bead with Wall St., appointed nothing but lobbyists, refused to prosecute voter intimidation based on race, got busted lying about the gun running policies and has done nothing but divide the country with a limp blame game... and tell him just because he is the first minorty President doesnt give him a free pass at being a fuck up.

No one else running will dare tell it like it actually is. Even Obama. So this aggressive quality is desireable by people not only sick of the lies & excuses from Obama & the Dems but from people sick of phoney politics.

Its a different tactic. If it worrks wont be seen until the nominee is picked. But with Obama set to spend over a billon on airtime, someone that can mop the floor with him in a debate is key.

But the stories coming out that Demns wan t either Romney or Newt to run against Obama signals to me they are spooked of both.

But as some of us agree here, Republican or Democrat doesnt matter. It is no longer we the people when we can only choses between the least worst multimillionare that is completely insulated & out of touch.

They were all pointing out Obama's faults, Newt was the only one being dickish about it. He tried running more moderate, didn't work, he fell in the polls. He's now appealing to the tea baggers and far right. Quoting lines like "Andrew Jackson had a good idea what to do with our enemies: Kill them" to massive rounds of applause. I could be wrong, but when it comes down to electability, Romney has a far better chance than all that baggage Newt has. In my opinion you just can't run on family values and the sanctity of marriage doing the shit he's done. But i could say similar shit about them all, they're all worthless.

I agree, including Obama. If memory serves, Obama was, and continues to be, pretty damn "dickish" himself by constantly blaming his predecessor and the GOP for every evil under the sun.

Having said that, I do believe that Gingrich deserves at least as much credit as is given to Bill Clinton for the economic upswing in America during the mid to late 1990's. Whenever people wax nostalgic about the Clinton years, they're remembering America post-1994 mid term elections when the Republicans gained control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The GOP swept to victory in '94 because Clinton's first two years in office pretty much sucked.

Yu do realize that the only part of that whole post that you grouped them all together were the first two words? Everything after was a GOP suck-up. :lol

it's going to be difficult for the gop to overcome the widening divide present in the party. the establishment vs. far right tea partiers battle could potentially be very damaging.

It's already started to get bad... The campaign chairman for a democratic challenger an Arkansas congrsssional district came home to find someone had broke into his house, bashed his cats skull in to the point his eyeballs were hanging out of it's head and wrote "liberal" across the cat's body.

So they can run against Hillary? :lol

Your boyfriend is fucked if gas hits $4+ a gallon or the middle east implodes into uncontrolled chaos. And if actually had journalists that vetted him and his phoney economic and jobs numbers he would be viewed as effective as Rick Perry with over 75% of the country. The media smoked Bush rightfully so when he cooked the books.

I still think there is a third party challenge coming that is going to tailspin he and whomever the other drone is running against him. It wont be Blomberg or Palin. I think it really depends on what energy costs do this summer...
