I still haven't read this for that very reason.
For the people that don't know, The Name of the Wind is the bestselling fantasy debut in hardcover format ever, beating both Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule and George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones.

I'll have to check it out!
Not to go too sidetracked but I'm pretty sure I will be reading The First Law series for the next month or so. First book is very entertaining and impossible not to take a fancy to it's great characterization. Been reading the first book every night if even for just a half hour and am just about finished.

Glokta is right up there with Tyrion in my mind.

Glokta is a great character. Logen is my favorite so far.

Wow, what a great read. Just finished this this morning and I can't get it out of my head. Great characters, absorbing and well paced plot, and fascinating mythology. Already pre-ordered the second book, should magically arrive on the Kindle on March 1

Finished Wise Man's Fear last night. Pretty good but I can't help but feeling that for such a long book there's a lot of filler. Very excited for the third book, I can see it building up to a nice climax.

About 100 pages in and I am underwhelmed. Hope it gets better soon. On hold until I finish the new Pratchett, which I am loving.

Just finished it. I have lots of things to say about it (big surprise ) but it's late. Just some quick thoughts though: at about 350 pages in I realized I didn't care anymore, but I wasn't going to stop after getting that far. I'm glad I read it and it was a very engaging story (and still is seeing as how it's not over) but had I known the premise or had a general idea of how the story was going to be told, I doubt I would've read it. But seeing as I did finish it, I do want to know the rest of the story. Although by some of the things you guys have said about the next book, I'm in no hurry. Not this year anyway.
