Bellator is a lot of fun.
I recently downloaded every one of Fedor Emelianenko's fights and we're watching those.

Do you get the HD Net channel? if not, see if you can get it because every day they play the big japanese promotions like Dream and Sengoku and they also show K-1 kickboxing which is awesome. they even show them live sometimes (granted they take place in japan so to watch them live you have to stay up until like 2am). They even show a lot of smaller US promotions like King of the Cage, XFC, etc. and also have a weekly MMA news show hosted by the hilarious Bas Rutten (check out some of his fights, he was sick). they've had guests like Anderson Silva, GSP, etc.

The only reason I know who Bas is is the fact that Gil downloaded a Pride event for me and he was doing commentating or something. Heh.
I don't get that channel, but we pretty much download everything we watch. I'm sure Dream and all that stuff wouldn't be hard to find online.

great fights last night.
Jeremy Stevens inched out Sam Stout in a brutal 3 round stand up. One of the best fights of the year.
Matt Mitrione, though slammed hard in the first, pretty much dominated the entire fight with superior hands, devastating leg kicks, and several sub attempts. Personally, i think the fight shouldve been stopped earlier when kimbo was taking a beating on the ground. Kimbo's also been cut from the UFC. It's about time, i think. Though he got great ratings for the organization as well as having many fans, I don't think he deserved the special treatment he got. There are much better fighters out there who are way more deserving of the fights and promotion that kimbo received.
Koscheck and Paul Daley... Well, Koscheck did exactly what he shouldve done, taken the fight to the ground with his superior wrestling. Not the most interested fight but... well, that's a lie with all the trash talking, the bogus knee to Josh when his knees were down (still though, you shouldnt even be going for that knee anyways), and the late left hook hit that Daley landed on Josh. Too bad for Paul because now he'll never fight in the UFC again.
Then there's Shogun and Machida. I'll just put it out there and say Machida is one of my favorite fighters. I like his karate style, his elusiveness, the fact he's got a BJJ black belt and never uses it, and the fact he brings a lot of honor to MMA. That said, Shogun brought a more aggressive game plan and ended up knocking out Machida in the 1st. Now Machida has never even lost a fight let alone be knocked out cold. Great fight and Shogun has won me over. If he can dominate a fighter nobody else had previously touched, he deserves all the praise he gets. Shogun still has what he gained in PRIDE and that's some good shit.

I only showed up at the pub in time to see the main event last night. That was an awesome win by Shogun.

It was definitley a "WTF" moment for me. I think it was actually Daley's toe that went into Josh's eye. That after-the-bell punch was a horrible display of sportsmanship. Daley's bruised ego couldn't take it. Lose and take it like a man instead of displaying the maturity of a 12 year old. At least Tyson was facing Evander when he bit his ear off

I think Shogun Rua is just the one guy that has Machida's number. Machida looked unbeatable till he faced Rua. He just can't cope with Rua's speed.

He needs a different approach for Rua. Speed is obviously on Shogun's side. But Rua is susceptible to submissions. I'm sure that will be Lyoto's plan of action for the rubber match, whenever that becomes a reality. Until then, I wish Shogun a prosperous reign as a LHW Champ

it'll be his plan of action but i just think, like Vernon Forrest had Mosley's number, Machida will dominate all other LW contenders but be bested by Rua everytime they square off. Anyway i can't wait to see GSP against Koscheck. The WWE would be proud of how that one is being built up.

He has finally put his wrestling and striking together, he is not just doing one or the other. With Daley he just wrestled because he obviously had to, but Anthony Johnson is a good example of his transition. I'm also curious to see how Jake Shields will fit into that picture once he signs with UFC.

I see Batista might be interested in pursuing mma now that he has quit Wrestling for the time being. Bastita v Angle anyone?
i know it's not realistic. it's more likely we'd see Lashley v Lesnar at some point.

Wow that Duffy v Russow fight was the most dramatic ending to a fight i've ever seen. Russow took shots that would have knocked out cold 99 per cent of men and then with one proper shot knocks Duffy out cold. Duffy's incredible power and speed will see him bounce back from this and take out most other guys.
As regards Rampage v Evans, why did Rampage stand off when he had Evans hurt? Was he afraid if he rushed in Evans would catch him.
I don't think Rampage's ring rust was a factor in the loss. He just couldn't deal with Evans speed and slick movement

Russow was totally doing nothing but get beat the whole fight and then totally Fedor'd Duffy. Heh. I love how the audience was booing when the judges gave Rampage that fight on split decision. I really couldn't tell who won, it could have gone either way.

Just as Evans will find it difficult to cope with Shogun's speed and power.

That has to be the end for Chuck now. White should have stuck to his word when he said he was done in the UFC. As Franklin alluded to Chuck doesn't help himself by the way he overcommits when going on the attack, but that didn't seem to matter in the past as he had punch resistance.

good fights. im happy to see that Cro Cop is back in form though Barry could've finished the fight if he didnt let Mirko up twice.
i agree about Chuck being done for. Franklin just looked better.
Kampmann looked the best ive ever seen him against Thiago. He should be getting a title shot soon.

i agree about Chuck being done for. Franklin just looked better.
Kampmann looked the best ive ever seen him against Thiago. He should be getting a title shot soon. Yeah. Barry seemed to be awestruck in that fight and it cost him. By the way Barry broke his foot and arm in that fight.
