Mir did a weird semi D'Arce/semi Guillotine choke sort of thing. I think officially it's listed as a guillotine choke. Yeah Mir packed on 25lbs of muscle to contend with Lesnar's size. He is pretty intense about beating him. So far so good. I'd like to see Florian fight Frankie Edgar next. Most likely he'll get Diego though, because of their history and because that's what the public will pay for. Too bad for Diego. Everyone that Diego decisioned, Florian put away. Also Florian didn't come out of a Penn loss looking like hamburger meat.

Yes. However I have every reason to believe Dana White's statements about Brock's health are commercially motivated. He is hyping up the severity of the disease so that the comeback is so much more anticipated. I have read an interview with Lesnar's trainer who actually lives in South Dakota along with Brock, and who had a much more optimistic prognosis. Yes Brock is still sick, but he is recovering at home now and he is eager to start training again. Having said all that, I do not believe he will win the rubber match with Mir. Mir's flaw last time was coming in underweight and not being able to withstand the sheer mass velocity of Brock's charge. Dude, Lesnar has had surgery on his...colon...or something. I don't remember what. It'll be months before he can even start training again, let alone get back into shape to fight.

In Nog's defense, his cage age is truly monumental. I think at this juncture he simply reached that Chuck Liddell phase. Velasquez still needs either Dos Santos or someone like Mir to earn a shot at the title. He still hasn't fought anyone in the top 5 who is sufficiently young and resilient and equally aggressive. I think Nog was a gate keeper on this one. Silva put in a sporadic but satisfying performance against Bisping. I want to see him become more consistent again before he poses any threat to the middleweight division. Chris Lytle's submission win was nothing short of awesome. George Sotiropolous was very very impressive against Joe Daddy. That was a superb jits clinic he put on him.

On standup, Lesnar has nothing on him. If Carwin keeps it standing he will destroy Lesnar. If it goes to the ground, and I would be curious to see two wrestlers of that size and bulk and aggression do some transition work, it's anybody's guess.

Shit...I was going to post about the last UFC but I forgot and now I don't really even remember what happened. Except that Blowjob Penn got his ass kicked. w00t! Dancing around like a fairy and not even fighting? That was the most frustrating fight I've ever watched. Fuck Anderson Silva in his fairy ass with a gigantic flaming cactus. Sideways. I dont think you've seen his fights against Sherk, Sanchez and Florian if you say that He usually doesnt talk shit at all. GSP was an exception and I think he learned from it.

yea, i wouldn't call Penn boring by any means. And like jabs said, he only really ever talked shit once when he fought GSP.

Is anyone here watching Bellator? It's on every week. It's kind of like an MMA reality show except not like TUF. They have so many fighters, and they fight in stages and by the end of the season they fight the finals and one guy is the winner. Probably see a lot of fighters who have left UFC on there. Gil and I saw the ref Mario Yamasaki on there. He must have quit UFC.

I heard he drew Pat Curran (Jeff's younger brother), that should be a game fight. Yamasaki is an MMA ref, meaning he is assigned by the athletic commission to any MMA event as they see fit. There are no "UFC" refs per se.
