... Should I look into getting some of their full albums? Most of their stuff good or should I just stick to the "Best Of" stuff? Son of a botch, Michael Stipe can sing his ass off.

I've been a fan since the Chronic Town EP.

I really love all of the I.R.S. albums.

Chronic Town EP (IRS) 1982
Murmur (IRS) 1983 (Universal) 2008
Reckoning (IRS) 1984
Fables of the Reconstruction (IRS) 1985
Lifes Rich Pageant (IRS) 1986
Dead Letter Office (IRS) 1987
Document (IRS) 1987

I think that 'Automatic for the People (Warner Bros.) 1992' is the best album from the WB era.

And the CD contains the Chronic Town EP as a bonus.

He's definitely right on in this case. I would have made the same recommendations. :thumb Murmur and Reckoning are my personal favorites if I had to narrow it down further.

I have a Best of and Automatic for the People and love both to death. Never really explored their other stuff though I had college friends that played all their older stuff that I should know it all and buy.
