What is this shit? I heard this for the first time tonight and don't know what to make of it. I know it's dubstep, whatever that is. Some fancy name for electronic music? Anyway, it's odd, I actually like half of every song I heard... the parts where it gets almost heavy and bassy and shit. Not too bad and real catchy, then the fruity almost J-Pop stuff comes in and out of each song and ruins it all.

You should check out the track he did with Korn. "Narssistic Cannibal" is the best Korn song in 15 years. No joke!

But Skrillex is by and large techno/electronic music. A genre that has just as many subgenres as metal.

This is not dubstep really. He rips off dubstep and makes pop music out of it. Dubstep is cool for club music or just chill background music. Never heard a Skrillex song that wasn't complete garbage. The fact that he teamed up with Korn pretty much says it all.
