So, I've been a smoker since high school. About a pack a day for 17 years. I have had brief periods where I stopped, but I always went back. I love smoking. I went ahead and bought one of those E-cigarette kits about two months ago. It is by bluCigs. These things actually work! If you are a smoker and want to quit or significantly cut back, this is the way to do it. Here are some of the advantages... The cartridges cost less than $2 each when bought in bulk Each cartridge is equivalent to a pack of smokes It virtually feels like smoking Your fingers and breath don't stink You can use it in restaurants, movie theaters, airplanes, etc. They have no odor They come in a variety of flavors (I only use the traditional tobacco flavor) They basically are completely harmless, as nicotine is about as bad for you as caffeine You can charge the battery in the wall or a USB port They make you feel like you live in Blade Runner From the day I bought the kit, I cut back to only 2 or 3 real cigarettes a day, which is incredible. Of course I would prefer to smoke real cigarettes, but since these electronic ones are out there and smoking costs so much and in so bad for you, I can't really justify smoking like I used to anymore. I highly recommend bluCigs. (I don't work for bluCigs or anything. I am only plugging them because I am stoked.) Now somebody needs to invent something that gets me drunk without ruining my internal organs.

A friend of mine has apparently experimented with putting weed into these with some success.
Interestingly, the Utah legislature recently expanded the definition of "smoking" to include E-cigs, so they could be covered under the state's indoor smoking ban. As is typical for this state, the legislators (and their masters in Temple Square) are more concerned with the visibility of something they dislike, or in this case something that resembles something they dislike, than any actual health concerns.

I know 3 people that have used these to try and stop smoking. 1 person hasn't smoked in 2 years and the other two started smoking when they went to the bar. SO I guess I'd suggest to not drink. Don't give up... my mom smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years and she quit cold turkey 7 years ago. If she can do it, anyone can.

Tried one last summer. Menthol, green light, odd vapor - liked it! But not enough to pick up the habit again though.

i've been meaning to try these. I love to smoke when I'm drinking but I hate all the smoke and don't really enjoy the smell. I only smoke occasionally (when I'm drinking) so I only go though like 3 packs a week. I feel like it might me too expensive considering my mild habit. Dead, when you smoke a bunch of weed and use nicotine when you never smoke cigarettes

One time at a buddy's party I was hanging out in the patio which was serving as a smoke pit, just chatting with pals. It was basically getting hotboxed as there were four people smoking cigs in there and it's pretty enclosed. After a while I felt like I was going to puke. I had to GTFO. It was disgusting.

A pack of tobacco lasts longer and tastes better.

I remember when my dad would send me next door to the drug store to buy a pack of cigarettes. They were 50 cents a pack. Of course, that was 35 years ago. I also remember when gasoline was 50 cents a gallon.
I'm old.

I'm old. I don't remember them being 50 cents... like 75. And just the act of kids being able to go in and buy them for parents is something you haven't seen in 30 years.

I'm old. So does my father Except it was shillings instead of cents. A few bob would last all night on the piss. When I turned 18 I could buy a pack of 20s for $4.20 and a schooner cost $1.40.
