Does “International Humanitarian Law” violations also extend to moblins and koopa troopas?

Once again games are singled out over movies, novels, etc. I'm not worried in the slightest though, this haappens all the time and nothing ever comes of it here in the U.S. I'd be bummed if I was a gamer in Germany or Australia though as those countries routinely crack down on games.

This doesn't even deserve a WTF, it's just sad and pathetic. There's millions of people worldwide that could benefit from IRC assistance, and they're worrying whether some spoiled kids are committing "war crimes."

I'm bummed about a lot of things but not being able to buy some games in local stores isn't one of them.

As right wing as you seem to be, I'd think you would be. Unless you don't care simply because you don't care for gaming, which is equally fucking retarded.

Um, I don't know what any political persuasion has do with anything. Since I live here and just picked up three games I pre-ordered from a store not a few days ago, I think I know if I feel bummed or not.

We will have a R18 rating for games very soon so most of those banned will pass. Which is a very good thing. But it won't change a thing in my life nor will I notice it.

If you find meaning in your life by playing video games, fair enough. But saying people who don't care for gaming are fucking retarded is, well, probably what I should expect from you. But then you probably can't build your own home or rebuild a car engine, which you know, is pretty fucking retarded. :wink

Like most people on this issue, you miss the larger point, totally. You said you don't care about the right to buy a game if you want. So you don't like games, use something else in the place of games. Just because YOU don't care for games, doesn't mean you shouldn't defend the rights for others to enjoy them if they want. Same with music, I could give a shit less about rap and hip hop, but I've always supported the right to listen to it if someone wants to. It's selfish to only defend music only when metal or any other genre I listen to is attacked. And I can't rebuild a car engine, but I can and have built houses. Worked as a roofer and in construction for over a decade. I guess your comment about not being bummed came off to me like you don't care about what restrictions your government places on your lifestyle.

But they don't have a "right" to buy any game they want in local stores. They can get around the law easily enough these days if they want to and they certainly have a right to campaign to get the law changed. I am definitely not a fan of censorship and think it is bullshit, but it doesn't affect my "lifestyle" one bit. Hence not being bummed about it.

If you feel this strongly about my views on this subject I wonder how you would react to my views on gay marriage and not defending their "rights"? :P
