Maybe that's where I messed up the first time because at a certain point, I just kept getting smoked by everyone. It was like the monsters had way surpassed me even with actively leveling up throughout the game. It was a while ago and I remember that it got really hard all of a sudden. Not quittin' this time!

Resumed playing Tim Schaefer/Double Fine Stdio's Halloween-themed RPG Costume Quest. It's not very deep, but it is fun as shit and turn-based battles that are actually fun. You have to find costume outfit plans and then when you do find them you need to fight baddies to gather material to make them. I finished an outfit that transforms me into a Transformer like dude that shoots a barrage of missiles. You can also buy and wear different patches to boost stats.

Soooo fucking pissed right now. I'm 3/4 done with Costume Quest, been having a BLAST with it, and run into a bug that cannot be fixed. The bug is from an update that came out between the last time I played it last fall and when I started playing again a few days ago. As I predicted, this is almost the norm for downloadable console games. Like PC gaming in the mid 90's.

Doesn't help that when you miss, it takes away one of you members turn to fight. But I had that Fog Cloud ability which lowers an enemy's agility. I'm also being much more attentive to the demon fusion stuff than I was the first I time I played this.

I remember it going out of print even when the PS2 was still going strong. Buying a PS2 was a better idea for me than buying a 360. I play it much more and mostly for the PS1 games.

Nocturne is the shit. My three demons towards the end were Daisoujou(simply for the Meditate ability), Shiva and Uriel. Don't remember all the skills I had for them, but some of the later battles were a breeze because of them. Never got around to fighting Lucifer, though...
Need to get me a working ps2 just so I can dust it off.

The Demon Fusion is one of the funnest most rewarding aspects of the game. A lot of fun really, and amazingly deep too. This is one of the few games I can remember getting and using a strategy guide for.
Also, the fat PS3s' have PS2 chips in them. You can find them on ebay. So glad I got one, and really easy and cheap to upgrade the had drives in them.
P.S. when you finish Nocturne look into Digital Devil Saga, Devil Summoner and Persona series, not nearly as good IMO but should be in your collection!

Oh yes. Both Devil Summoners are a must have if you're a fan of Nocturne.....
Still need to try the Persona series, though

Digital Devil Saga was alright... but not worth playing through 2 entire games for IMO. 1st one i remember being pretty fun, with crazy ass boss battles, but shit started getting really tedious around the 2nd for me. story took a turn for the worse, just didn't feel like level grinding again, waiting for certain enemies so i could maybe get a certain item, and doing all the crazy side shit. final boss was easy too. wasn't crazy about the character design either... that one chick had teeth on her tits, the other guy was a venus flytrap... i wanna be the Demifiend again

Tried playing Dead Island last night. It's so buggy that it's unplayable across all 3 platforms. The promised release day patch did not come to pass, not even as of today. Luckily Crimson Alliance came out today and a buddy and I got 3 hours of game-time in before I had to go to work. The game is frigging great, runs really well and is fun as shit. Like Diablo meets Torchlight.

Finally resumed my latest run through Mass Effect 2. Since I lost all my saves, I have to finish it again before ME3 comes out.
