FROM HEAVYMETALFF.COM: Time has come to bring together the films that the metal community wants to watch on the big screen. A few years back, films like Metal: A Headbangers Journey, Heavy Metal in Baghdad, and Until The light Takes Us became the first metal films that would play around the world in prestigious film festivals.

Record companies and artists release making ofs and live concerts as special editions in CDs, another great source of video material. And also classics like Heavy Metal Parking Lot. All of them give us the opportunity to celebrate this by creating a Heavy Metal Film Festival, a home for all film related material in the metal world.

We think there's a bright future for metal films. So we want to have a platform to launch them, promote them and support them. Some of the objectives of the festival include:

    * Bring together the metal community to watch
our music on the big screen.
    * Promote films and their bands
    * Promote films that want to tell a story that
touches Metal in some way or another.
    * Increase the quality in special edition enhanced
      material; making offs, concerts, etc.

The festival is being organized by Samuel Douek; a metal-head since age 6 and current director of the Hola Mexico Film Festival in Australia, NZ and USA.
